We know a lot of you have questions about an online summer program and we’re here to address your concerns!

Parents are invited to join A Class Act NY, the award-winning acting studio, on ZOOM for a FREE preview of what Summer 2020 will look like online!

For summer 2020, we will be offering online musical theatre, on-camera and dramatic arts programs taught by amazing Broadway Veterans, Los Angeles Casting Directors and Television and Film Directors.

Join us for some or all of the sessions and feel free to Zoom in and out as you wish!

ACANY has been offering programs online since early March to great success. Our virtual camp fair is for parents who would like to see what separates our online performing arts education from the rest!

We highly recommend watching the session with your child!

We know a lot of you have questions about an online summer program and we’re here to address your concerns!

Each session will include:
• A quick introduction to the program
• A demo of how camp will be run featuring ACANY students and a member of our faculty (Broadway Stars, Music Directors and a Top Disney & Nick TV Director)
• A Q&A with ACANY’s administrative staff to answer any parent questions

These sessions will just scratch the surface of what we’ll be covering throughout the summer. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of what a typical online summer camp day will look like.

Camp days will be approximately 3-4 hours long, and will include both private and group instruction.

Campers will also take specialized workshops throughout the week!

Workshops may include: TV and Film Work, Voice-Over, Dance, Uta Hagen and Meisner Acting Techniques, Stage Combat, Dialect Coaching, Monologue Study, Shakespeare, Vocal Technique, and more!

Workshop Dramatic Acting Scenes with Film & TV Star, Charlie Plummer. You might recognize Charlie from Hulu’s LOOKING FOR ALASKA, HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE, or the films ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD, THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER, and LEAN ON PETE. Charlie got his start at our studio, where he met his manager at a workshop.

Charlie will work with students on TV and Film scenes. Learn how to give a natural, nuanced and subtle performance by working on active listening skills and identifying intentions. The goal in Charlie’s class is to begin to develop the skills necessary to create authentic and believable characters.

A Class Act NY’s Pre-Professional Program is for a select group of artists who are ready for the challenge of honing their singing, dancing, & acting skills through exploring more advanced work.

We will spend 3 hours and 30 minutes together daily as a group in our online advanced intensive led by our Broadway Director. Included in the program are 2 forty-five minute lessons with the main Broadway Director and Music Director and 1 fifteen-minute dance brush up lesson with a Choreographer. Moreover, throughout the week, special visiting guest artists such as Broadway Stars and Broadway Casting Directors zoom in to teach accelerated, educational masterclasses.

Private Lessons

Voice: 45 Minutes with your Broadway Director and a Professional Music Director. We’ll work on your song cut for the final showcase. This lesson will focus on proper audition and vocal technique.

Acting: 45 Minutes with your Broadway Director. We’ll work on your monologue for the final showcase. We’ll break down your monologue beat by beat, discover operative words within the text, and identify your conflict and your objective.

Dance: 15 Minutes with a Professional Choreographer. While dance won’t be part of Friday’s showcase, it’s important all well rounded musical theatre performers strengthen their dance skills. Learn how to break down difficult dance steps and make a lasting impression in a dance audition.

It’s often challenging to get in front of Talent Agents and Managers. A Class Act NY’s industry showcases provide aspiring actors the unbelievable opportunity to perform for 20 scouting agents & managers in one evening.

Previous participants are now working professionally and are starring on Broadway, in television series, films and commercials. Click here to read about some of our students’ professional progress.

The biggest agencies and management firms in town attend our showcases including CESD, Abrams Artists (A3), Stewart Talent, DDO Artists, Zuri, Shirley Grant Management, Carson Adler, Carson Kolker, Parkside Management, Sinclair Management and many more.

The fee to participate is 295.00. For an additional 90.00, you can workshop your pieces with one of our Broadway coaches! Learn if your piece(s) showcase your unique talents!

All actors must sign on at 7:20 PM ET for a mandatory meeting. The Showcase begins promptly at 7:30 PM ET.

Participants will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet with a front facing camera, and you mustdownload the free ZOOM app to participate!

4 Agent Day

No Audition Required | Ages 7-20s (Divided into rooms by age) | Saturday, July 25 | Cost for 1 Session: 195.00 | Cost for 2 Sessions: 290.00

Lucky participants have the amazing opportunity to work with either 2 or 4 Top Scouting Talent Agents in either a 1/2 day workshop or a full day 6.5 hour workshop!

The agents represent kids, teens and young adults for theatre, film, TV, commercials and voice-over!

3 Hour AM Workshop - Film & TV with 2 Top Agents
• Mock television and film auditions
• The Agents will offer guidance, feedback and coaching on both individual and chemistry read mock auditions (scenes will be sent a few days in advance as they would in a real audition scenario)

3 Hour PM Workshop - Musical Theatre OR Monologue Performance with 2 Top Agents
• Perform either a 16-bar cut or a one-minute monologue. A music director will be provided for singers. Pre-approved monologues will be sent in advance for non-singers.
• Actors will receive one-on-one coaching on their presentation, interpretation and audition technique.
