In this comprehensive course, students will get the chance to explore all aspects of acting for popular networks like Disney & Nickelodeon! We’ll split our time between a professional recording studio, and a traditional studio with proper on-camera equipment.

We will cover both the voice-over component and the on-camera acting component in this comprehensive VO and On-Camera Acting Class. Lots of Disney & Nick shows employ voice-overs in their episodes. WEEKS 1-4: VOICE-OVER ACTING

For the remaining weeks, we’ll work in a traditional studio with on-camera equipment and learn how to bring out the funny using scripts from actual hit Disney & Nick TV shows!

WEEK 10: PREPARE FOR THE FINAL SHOWCASE 
Run through, notes and adjustments will be given.

WEEK 11: FINAL SHOWCASE 
Present pieces you have worked on from both the voice-over and on-camera sections of this course for family, friends, and a few scouting industry guests!

Focus of Class:
In this comprehensive course, we will cover the ins and outs of 3 popular forms of TV series: Procedurals, Sitcoms and Serial Dramas.

Not only will students learn how to act for these different types of popular TV series, they will also learn lingo and on-camera staging technique that is specific to each one.

Your instructor, RJ Brown, is best known for playing the role of Caleb on Netflix’s hit serial drama, 13 REASONS WHY. He has also appeared in multiple procedurals including: THE BLACKLIST, BLUE BLOODS, and CHICAGO PD. As for comedy, RJ played Thomas West in CW’s THE CARRIE DIARIES, and appeared in multiple episodes of HBO’s GIRLS.

We’ll spend the 11-weeks covering each of the following popular forms of TV:

Procedurals (LAW & ORDER, THE BLACKLIST, SCANDAL); Sitcoms (FRIENDS, MODERN FAMILY, and LIV & MADDIE); Serial Dramas (13 REASONS WHY, RIVERDALE, and THE CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA)

Learn the techniques that can help you nail your auditions!

In this 11-week advanced class, actors will work on the three major components of the audition process: the vocal audition, the dance audition, and the acting audition.

Our first class will be a mock audition, each student will perform a song cut so our instructors can become familiar with your vocal abilities and your personality.

After we have run through everyone's audition cut, your Broadway instructor will lead the class in a mock dance audition!

During the 11-weeks, we will also pair you up with scene partners to run mock acting auditions!

Moreover, we’ll make recommendations of song cuts you should add to your repertoire and we will begin to hone those new song cuts!

Final Showcase: 
On the last day, actors will perform a variety of the material they have mastered for 10 scouting agents and managers, as well as family & friends!

Wendy Faraone is an influential TV and Film Director whose most well known for her work on the Disney and Nickelodeon channels. If you have studied with Wendy in the past at ACANY, you more than likely learned multi-camera acting technique for sitcoms.

However, it is imperative that actors also begin to learn single camera technique as well!

Single camera shows are more often than not dramatic shows, or when used in a sitcom, these are the more understated and dramatic moments within an episode.

Learn the art of performing dramatic scenes for single camera television shows from one of the industry’s most in-demand professionals, Wendy Faraone!

Wendy states, “Technically all of my shows are hybrids of single and multi right now. Take a look at JUST ROLL WITH IT! There’s a ton of single camera shots in that show!”

Focus of Class:
• Create a believable character for a naturalistic performance
• Develop the tools needed for single camera dramatic acting, such as: playing naturally in your eyes and focusing on subtext, voice and relationship
