An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Sunday, repeating until May 20, 2018

Ages 12 and up | Sunday, Apr. 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20

Instructor: Broadway, Voice-Over, and On-Camera Actor and Producer, Ashley Kate Adams (Broadway’s LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT, RULES OF COOL)

Students will learn about Ann Bogart’s approach to acting, viewpoints, which is where an actor utilizes their body and pace to create meaning.

They will utilize the 6 viewpoints: space, time, shape, emotion, movement, story to create their own pieces and apply them to monologues and scenes. At the end of the 6-week session, students will present their scene work to family, friends and a few Talent Reps!

The class is geared toward young actors who are serious about their work. A considerable amount of memorization and homework will be required. LEARN MORE

ACANY is holding auditions for our Advanced Weekly Classes, Agent & Manager Showcase, February Cabaret, and our Summer Pre-Professional Program on Saturday, Jan. 12 and Monday, Jan. 21 (No School – MLK Day).

Audition Instructions:
All Actors Must Prepare: One-minute monologue from a published play.
• Note: you do not need to prepare a monologue for the Cabaret audition
Singers: If you are a singer, please sing 32 bars a cappella of a musical theatre song.
• Note: if you are NOT a singer, please disregard this.

Focus of Class: Teen Dramedy is an on-camera class geared toward actors interested in learning techniques found in popular teen dramedies such as ATYPICAL, RIVERDALE, GILMORE GIRLS, AWKWARD, THE BOLD TYPE, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, GOSSIP GIRL and more!

Final Showcase: Class culminates in a final performance in the studio for loved ones and a few scouting talent reps!
