Auditions for Off-Broadway, Full-Scale Production of SEUSSICAL JR!

January 6, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - January 14, 2018 @ 4:30 pm EST

Ages 7 – 12! January 6, 13, & 14!

Open Call Auditions for ACANY’s Spring Off-Broadway Productions of SEUSSICAL JR. are coming up! Accepting video auditions for those who cannot attend the in-person auditions! Video audition deadline is January 12.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens, and Stephen Flaherty. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.  Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.  Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphantly!

ACANY’s Fall 2020 Virtual Play

Director: Broadway & TV Star, Joe Carroll (FROZEN, BANDSTAND, CINDERELLA, THE POLITICIAN, NEW AMSTERDAM)

Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

ALMOST MAINE is an ensemble show written by Tony Nominated Actor and Playwright John Cariani (FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, SOMETHING ROTTEN, THE BAND’S VISIT).

The show will be edited together, and we’ll be hosting a viewing party with the cast, family, friends, and scouting industry guests 2 weeks later!
