Advanced Student Pre-Requisite: A Class Act NY’s advanced programs are for serious students who are seeking to take their skills to the next level. To enroll in this class, you must have taken classes or performed in shows at reputable institutions in the past.

Are you getting a callback but not booking a role?
Auditioning for a musical is more than just singing 16 or 32 bars.
Whether you are auditioning for amateur or professional productions, this class is guaranteed to help you improve your audition technique and leave a lasting impression in the casting room!
Work on the three major components of the audition process:
• vocal audition
• dance audition
• acting audition
Our first class will be a mock audition, in which each student performs a song cut so our Broadway instructors can become familiar with your vocal abilities and your personality.
VOCAL AUDITIONS:
Over the course of our time together, we will hone one 16-bar cut and one 32-bar cut. If we have time, we will hone a second 32-bar cut. Furthermore, our Broadway instructors will make suggestions of new song cuts to explore should they think your song cuts are not doing you justice.
• Hone your song interpretation and presentation skills
• Work on vocal dynamics, tone, pitch, and more with our Broadway Team
• Learn how to talk to the Music Director and learn the do’s and don’ts of auditioning
MOCK DANCE CALLS:
Throughout our 11 weeks, your Broadway instructor will lead students in mock dance auditions.
• Learn to present yourself confidently in dance call auditions
• Master what it takes to pick up combinations quickly
• Learn about muscle memory and how to train your body to nail dance moves
SCENE WORK AUDITION:
During the 11 weeks, we will also pair you up with scene partners to run mock acting auditions!
• Focus on script analysis and character development
• Work on active listening skills and being a generous scene partner
• Learn how to leave a lasting impression in the audition room
FINAL SHOWCASE WITH SCOUTING TALENT REPS:
On the last day, actors perform a variety of the material they have mastered for loved ones and 3 or more scouting Talent Agents and Managers!
