Students will be challenged in this advanced placement class! Learn the art of voice-over acting in a real recording studio! Voice-over acting is unlike any other type of acting! It requires that the actor make bold, gutsy choices that are original and specific and outside of the box! Students will learn about Ann Bogart’s approach to acting, viewpoints, which is where an actor utilizes their body and pace to create meaning.

They will utilize the 6 viewpoints: space, time, shape, emotion, movement, story to create their own pieces and apply them to monologues and scenes. At the end of the 6-week session, students will present their scene work to family, friends and a few Talent Reps!

Actors who are interested in auditioning for musical theatre programs will benefit from working with the Enrollment Manager at Pace University’s School of the Arts, a Broadway Actor and Pace University School of the Arts Adjunct Professor and a professional Music Director. The Enrollment Manager will give students in inside look at the pre-screen process and what he wants to see in applicants. A straight acting, non-musical theatre camp great for both the thespian and the musical theatre actor! 

Through a variety of techniques and workshops in scene study, on-camera and voiceover technique, script analysis, physicality exercises, improvisation and more, campers will finish the week with plenty of new skills to add to their actor’s toolbox.

Actors will split time between an acting studio and a professional voice-over studio! Camp culminates in a final showcase of scene work and newly learned skills for family and friends at an exciting Off-Broadway Theatre!

The performance is designed to showcase the skills and challenging material students have mastered throughout the week.

In this comprehensive musical theatre program, campers will work with a Broadway Actor and Professional Music Director on song and dance numbers from different eras in Broadway history, from the old classics to the hits of today! On-Camera & Broadway actor James Leo Ryan (ANNIE, NCIS, CSI, MEDIUM, NUMB3RS) will lead this week.

Workshops with Broadway Actors: Campers will take workshops with various Broadway guest artists throughout the week! On the final day of camp, campers will perform in a Musical Revue for friends and family!

PSYKIDZ: A New Musical

An original musical about our hidden abilities and the fears that come with being “different”, PSYKIDZ follows three youngsters from various backgrounds who are chosen by world renowned psychic-medium Skylar Quinn to get specialized on-site training at a newly discovered site that has sent scientists and archeologists running in fear. As the psychic kids develop their skills and subsequently heal the conflicted relationships with their families, they each become more confident and accepting of their special abilities, ultimately becoming more confident with who they are.
