Actors who are interested in auditioning for musical theatre programs will benefit from working with the Enrollment Manager at Pace University’s School of the Arts, a Broadway Actor and Pace University School of the Arts Adjunct Professor and a professional Music Director. The Enrollment Manager will give students in inside look at the pre-screen process and what he wants to see in applicants. Focus of Class: Learn how to make quick turns and how to pace and land jokes. Learn how to identify comedic clues within the text as well as physical techniques to deliver the material. Learn specific blocking technique and overall terminology used on set, and proper audition technique that will set you apart in auditions.
Final Showcase: The program culminates with a Showcase for loved ones and scouting talent representatives.

Audition Requirements
Singers & Non-Singers:
One-minute monologue. Pieces should be conversational in tone. Monologues MUST be memorized. Bring 2 copies with you!
Singers Must Also Prepare:
32 bars of a musical theatre song to be sung a cappella.
*Monologues are mandatory for the Agent & Manager Showcase audition.

Join Broadway Cast Member of WICKED, Desi Oakley who played Elphaba & Nessarose on the Great White Way for a one-day musical theatre WICKED themed workshop! Participants will learn a WICKED song and dance combo with Broadway Cast Member, Desi Oakley and a professional Music Director. Desi will also host a lively Question and Answer Session about her experience in this ‘popular’ musical and will be signing autographs and taking pics with students, so bring your playbills!
