What is a Procedural?
A procedural drama is a genre of television programming that focuses on how crimes are solved or some other aspect of a law enforcement agency, legislative body, or court of law. Shows usually have an episodic format that does not require the viewer to have seen previous episodes. Episodes typically have a self-contained, also referred to as stand-alone, plot that is introduced and resolved within the same episode.

Examples: FBI FRANCHISE, LAW & ORDER, and THE BLACKLIST

Many procedurals film in New York City and provide lots of job opportunities for teen & adult actors as there are often guest stars from week to week. This is a great style to be familiar with!

Gain invaluable insight into the audition process from a respected casting director!
