Are you getting a callback but not booking a role? Auditioning for a musical is more than just singing 16 or 32 bars. Learn the ins and outs of the full musical theatre audition experience, from the vocal audition to the dance call to chemistry reads, in which actors are paired with potential co-stars.
Learn the techniques that can help you nail your auditions!
In this 11-week advanced class, actors will work on the three major components of the audition process: the vocal audition, the dance audition, and the acting audition.
Our first class will be a mock audition, each student will perform a song cut so our instructors can become familiar with your vocal abilities and your personality.
After we have run through everyones audition cut, your Broadway instructor will lead the class in a mock dance audition!
Throughout the 11-week class, we’ll make recommendations and hone new song cuts that you can add to your repertoire and continue to demystify the audition process.
Focus of Class:
• Learn to present yourself confidently in dance auditions
• Master what it takes to pick up combinations quickly
• Learn how fake it til you make it
• Learn about muscle memory, and how to train your body to nail dance moves
Final Showcase: On the last day, actors will perform a variety of the material they have mastered for 10 scouting agents and managers, as well as family & friends!
