Voice-Over Instructor: Amy Marcs

On-Camera Instructor: Ashley Kate Adams (UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT, RULES OF COOL)

We will cover both the voice-over component and the on-camera acting component in this comprehensive VO and On-Camera Acting Class. Lots of Disney & Nick shows employ voice-overs in their episodes. Familiar with LIV & MADDIE or STUCK IN THE MIDDLE? Watch a few episodes of these hit Disney shows to see what we are referring to!

This course is designed for actors who want to learn both the art of vo and on-camera acting technique required for popular Disney & Nick shows!

Throughout our 11-weeks together, we will work in a professional recording studio, and a traditional studio with a camera, tripod and monitor.

Moreover, when actors book a job, like, LIV & MADDIE, they are often asked to record voice-over promos and radio spots! Promos are promotional commercials that gets the audience excited to tune in to watch a particular show! Learn how to nail both narration and promos in this class!

WEEKS 1-4: VOICE-OVER ACTING
In the 1st four weeks, we will focus on voice-over acting in a professional recording studio!

Focus of the 1st four Voice-Over Classes:
Promos:
Advertisements for TV & Radio!
Cartoons & Animated Feature Films: Learn how to bring animated characters to life!
Narration for TV: How many times have you enjoyed watching a movie or TV show where the central character also narrates?

We’ll also learn about working in a professional recording studio, and how to work with the equipment. Additionally we’ll get into what sets Voice-Over acting apart from other forms of acting – as it requires an actor to make specific and original acting choices that are outside of the box!

WEEKS 5-9: ON-CAMERA ACTING
For the remaining weeks, we’ll work in a traditional studio with on-camera equipment and learn how to bring out the funny using scripts from actual hit Disney & Nick TV shows!

Focus of the last five On-Camera Classes:
• Learn to identify comedic clues within the text!
• Learn how to use your physicality on camera!
• Learn how to land jokes and bring out the funny in TV scripts!
• Learn proper on-camera sitcom acting and audition technique!

WEEK 10: PREPARE FOR THE FINAL SHOWCASE ON WEEK 11
Run through, notes and adjustments will be given.
