Jon Rosenbaum has earned a reputation as a passionate filmmaker with an extraordinary imagination and a wide range of experience in all facets of film and television. Raised in scenic Detroit, young Jon cut his teeth volunteering on local horror movies, making comedic short films, drawing original comic strips and writing songs for his Beastie Boys-esque band. After graduating from film school at the University of Michigan, Jon won acclaim for directing the independent feature-length satire “STORMING HOME”, as well as “THE PORK, THE FORK AND THE MAN FROM NEW YORK”, a twisted fairy tale he created based on a child’s limerick.
For the last twenty years, Jon has split his time between Los Angeles and Vancouver, British Columbia, where he continues to hone his skills as a film and television director and producer. Working both in the U.S. and Canada (where he now has dual citizen status), Jon has carved a niche in the comedy and ‘tween’ genres, thanks to his quirky sensibility and love of collaborating with young talent. His material has spanned many other genres as well, and has involved partnerships with some of the top networks and production companies, including Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix, Amazon, NBC/Universal, Fox, SyFy, Lifetime, and the Cartoon Network. He considers himself extremely fortunate to be doing what he loves – directing series, pilots and movies that keep his creative juices flowing.
