In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, Urinetown is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, Urinetown catapults the “comedic romp” into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.
Zoom Audition Dates
When: Sunday, January 15th from 1 PM – 6 PM ET
When: Monday, January 16th from 1 PM – 6 PM ET (Martin Luther King Jr Day – No School!)
Where: Via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent via email before your audition.

You will be asked to perform 2 things:

*In case we ask you to perform a different song or scene, please be familiar with all of the material!

Rehearsal Conflicts
We accept 2-3 pre-approved absences. We will be filming each rehearsal. You will be expected to review the material before the next rehearsal.
Rehearsal Schedule
There will be 11 rehearsals, mostly on Sundays, with a few exceptions, but this is not including our mandatory tech nights at the theatre.
Sunday Rehearsals: April 16, 23, 30; May 7, 14, 21; June 4
Sunday Time: 1:30-6 PM
Friday Night Rehearsals: April 28; May 5
Friday Time: 4-8 PM
Saturday Rehearsals: May 13, 20
Saturday Time: 1:30-6 PM
Where: Pearl Studios – 500 8th Ave, NYC
Mandatory Tech Nights at The Five Angels Theater
Two Tech Rehearsals: Monday – Thursday, June 5-8
***The show will be double cast. You will need to attend 2 tech nights, either Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday
Tech Time: 4-9:30 PM
