When our son, Charlie Plummer, was ten, he asked if he could pursue acting professionally.  We looked at several workshop options, and signed him up for a one-day class with A Class Act NY.  He loved it so much, he asked to return; that next time, he met manager Kim Pedell of Zoom Talent Management, who signed him shortly thereafter, and continues to represent him to this day.  Charlie also did the wonderfully rigorous showcase course, which resulted in him signing with his first theatrical and commercial agents.  We would strongly recommend A Class Act NY to any aspiring young artists and their parents; it’s no hyperbole to say that it changed our lives.

Their dedicated  group of instructors are magicians with managing kids and provide a low pressure but serious environment to learn, with a focus on work AND fun! Their total commitment is obvious from seeing the impressive amount of progress our daughter has made under their guidance. She has been enthusiastic about every rehearsal and simply thrilled that we got her involved here. It is of the most productive gifts you can give to a child with an interest in the performing arts, and a first rate opportunity to take advantage of!

John and I just wanted to thank you and your amazing staff for the wonderful experience our family has had with your studio this Fall. We love the performing arts, and appreciate that both our daughters will always have wonderful memories of their first fullstage production (together!). Every aspect of the Little Mermaid experience from audition to performance was so positive for our girls, and we’re thankful for your level of care and attention to every detail. Our whole extended family was so excited – we had more than a dozen family/friends in the audience come for the first performance, and after everyone heard how wonderful the production was, over 30 friends/family/teachers attended Sunday. What a special treat for our daughters and our friends! We are all still reveling in it, and can’t wait for the next one.

Our 6 yr old daughter attended the Cabaret camp and absolutely loved it from start to finish. She didn’t want camp to end. Everyone involved with this organization is top-notch. Our daughter learned so much in just one week thanks to the professional, yet fun atmosphere the directors and assistants provided. Thank you ACANY!

A Class Act NY is a professional, well executed and extremely beneficial place for budding artists. Due to the distance, we have not had our child attend as many workshops as we would have liked, but the few that we attended have been outstanding and truly worth our time and money.

My son attended the Agent Industry Showcase last month. He received 6 calls the following day! So far we have signed with Lil Angels Unlimited Management. The showcase was extremely organized and I loved how they warmed the kids up and did some fun things to calm their nerves before their performance.

A Class Act NY is a great way to learn Broadway technique from real Broadway stars. I just did my first workshop, and in six months I was working in one of the biggest Broadway shows that year! Great things can happen, and A Class Act can help make these great things happen for you too!

I absolutely loved training at A Class Act NY; well worth the trip from Scotland! I learned so much in a short time. Thank you so much for having me and can’t wait to come back!

Time Out NY Kids
“Not all learning is done before 3 pm. Here’s where your kid can head when the school bell tolls.
Get ready to stomach some show tunes. At this UWS studio, professional New York performers (many with credits from the Great White Way, such as Legally Blonde’s Leslie Kritzer) bite kids with the Broadway bug through their two eight-week courses: “Sing Your Heart Out” (ages 7 to 8 years) and “Pretend & Play” (ages 5 to 6 years). In the former class, kids learn proper vocal technique, diction and ear training from the pros, and get the chance to solo on Broadway showstoppers. In the latter, young stars master the basics of improvisation and theatrical movement in a playful way that teaches them how to perform without inhibitions.”

“Classes are taught by professional working actors many with Broadway credits! The level of education a child receives from A Class Act NY is unlike any other acting studio in NYC”
“Never before has there been a Camp Program of this Magnitude that affords Campers up-close and personal training with the very best the entertainment industry has to offer.”
