DESCRIPTION:MORE TICKETS RELEASED! \nJoin A Class Act NY for a Concert Presentation of PSYKIDZ: A New Musical by award-winning composer/writer\, Bobby Cronin! \nMagnolia Donovan is a pre-teen who “sees things” in her room\, much to the dismay of her father Leo who believes she is seeking attention due to the recent break-up of her parent’s marriage. Along with Leo’s mother “Nana”\, the family heads to an old inn in Vermont for a getaway where they encounter two families who have been chosen by world-renowned psychic-medium Skylar Quinn (Nana’s favorite TV star) to get specialized on-site psychic training. After Nana convinces Skylar to let Magnolia join\, the psychic kids develop their skills while helping a ghost family separated in the afterlife. Facing her demons head-on\, Magnolia stands up for herself to exorcise the Shadow Man haunting her and the inn. Their success subsequently heals the conflicted relationships within their own families as the psychic kids each become more confident and accepting of their special abilities. \nBobby Cronin is an award-winning composer/writer. His projects include: Mary & Max [based on the claymation film of the same name] with bookwriter Crystal Skillman and director Stafford Arima which will have a staged reading at Pace University in January 2017 and an out of town production in 2018. Sadly\, some ACANY alumni are currently struggling to fight this insidious disease\, and as an organization we strongly identify with ACCO’s mission to offer community support to those affected by Childhood Cancer. \nOur Variety Show will be the first of two events in collaboration with ACCO and alumna Molly Oldham (2x brain cancer warrior) \nUnlike previous ACANY Cabarets that only featured singers\, we are going to switch up our fall fundraiser! \nStandup? Tap-dancer? Singer/Songwriter? Magician? Dog act? Spoken Word Poet? Well…maybe no dog acts- but we want to see what special talents you bring to the table! Of course\, singers are still welcome! \nTickets for the performance are $55 (general admission) plus a 2 drink minimum. All performers are required to purchase 4 tickets. \nEach performer will have a 45 minute zoom rehearsal with our Director to prepare! On the night of the show\, singers can elect to perform with a backing track or without live accompaniment. Click here for self-tape guidelines and video submission instructions. \nAudition Deadline:\nPerformers are accepted on a rolling admissions basis\, with no set deadline. However\, the cabaret is limited to a small number of advanced performers\, and spots cannot be held.
