Teen Drama is an on-camera class geared toward actors interested in learning techniques found in popular teen dramas, such as RIVERDALE, VAMPIRE DIARIES, THE BOLD TYPE, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, GOSSIP GIRL, THE O.C. and SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER! Students will also learn to identify clues within the text as well as physical techniques to deliver the material that will help set them apart in their auditions. The program culminates with a Final Showcase for friends, family as well as agents and managers in which students have an opportunity to showcase their talent. The class is geared toward young actors who are serious about their work. A considerable amount of memorization and homework will be required.

Commercial acting is harder than it looks! You never get the copy in advance so it’s almost always a COLD READ AUDITION! Young actors will learn how to nail cold read commercial auditions. Budding thespians will learn how to quickly analyze commercial copy and find the acting beats within the text to make a lasting impression on both casting directors and on ad agency executives! Improvisation also plays a crucial role in commercial auditions. Actors will learn to identify comedic clues within the text as well as physical techniques that allow them to deliver material in a way that will set them apart in their auditions. Sharpen your improv skills and learn how to incorporate them into your performance. The 5-week program culminates with a Final Showcase for friends, family as well as Talent Reps in which students have an opportunity to showcase their talent. The class is geared toward young actors who are serious about their work. A considerable amount of memorization and homework will be required.

Students will learn the in’s and out’s and the art of creating a memorable and exceptional cabaret performance! Topics will include mic technique, how to write “patter” (the spoken lines between songs), and how to create a unique performance! The class will conclude with the chance to perform a solo in an ACANY Cabaret! The class is geared toward young actors who are serious about their work. Students will be challenged in this advanced placement class! Learn the art of voice-over acting in a real recording studio! Voice-over acting is unlike any other type of acting! It requires that the actor make bold, gutsy choices that are original and specific and outside of the box! Learn how to create living, breathing animated characters for cartoons and animated feature films! We will also work on naturalistic reads for commercials, and radio spots! Learn proper mic skills, too!

Actors who are interested in auditioning for musical theatre programs will benefit from working with the Enrollment Manager at Pace University’s School of the Arts, a Broadway Actor and Pace University School of the Arts Adjunct Professor and a professional Music Director. The Enrollment Manager will give students in inside look at the pre-screen process and what he wants to see in applicants. The Broadway actor and MD will work with students on their audition songs, interpretation and presentation.

Bring in your go-to audition cuts and have the chance to hone your skills for the first three weeks of class. If we think there are better song choices for you, we will guide you in finding appropriate pieces that will showcase your unique personality and vocal range. Then for the final 3 weeks, have the chance to receive feedback and coaching from 3 different scouting industry pros including a Broadway Casting Director, a scouting Talent Agent and a Talent Manager!

At the end of the 6-week session, students will present their scene work to family, friends and a few Talent Reps! The class is geared toward young actors who are serious about their work. In this intense and challenging 6-week course, students will work on three major components of acting: musical theatre audition technique, acting through song, and in depth monologue work. Students will hone their audition technique as well as learn how to cut music and monologues for audition purposes. By the end of the 6 weeks, actors will have at least one, if not two, contrasting songs and monologues that are “audition ready.” At the end of the 6-week session, students will perform in a final showcase for family, friends and a few Talent Reps! The class is geared toward young actors who are serious about their work. A considerable amount of memorization and homework will be required.
