A Class Act NY’s Pre-Professional Program is for a select group of artists who are ready for the challenge of honing their singing, dancing, & acting skills through exploring more advanced work.

July participants are treated to a matinee performance of Broadway's empowering musical ANASTASIA and attend a Talkback with cast members after the show!

A straight acting, non-musical theatre camp great for both the thespian and the musical theatre actor! 

Through a variety of techniques and workshops in scene study, on-camera and voiceover technique, script analysis, physicality exercises, improvisation and more, campers will finish the week with plenty of new skills to add to their actor’s toolbox.

Actors will split time between an acting studio and a professional voice-over studio! Camp culminates in a final showcase of scene work and newly learned skills for family and friends at an exciting Off-Broadway Theatre!

Senior Pre-Professional Program (July 23 – 27)

July Dates: Monday - Friday, July 23 - July 27, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

A Class Act NY’s Pre-Professional Program is for a select group of young artists who are ready for the challenge of growing their theatre performance skills and are looking forward to exploring more advanced work.

Pre-Professional Program faculty include Broadway Theatre Actors and Industry Professionals interested in sharing methods and insights with those seeking to expand their craft and explore creative expression.

The performance is designed to showcase the skills and challenging material students have mastered throughout the week.

Broadway Matinee and talkback: On Wednesday, our PPP participants will be treated to a Broadway Matinee performance of WICKED and a talkback with actors after the show! LEARN MORE

August 2018: Broadway Boot Camp

In this comprehensive musical theatre program, campers will work with a Broadway Actor and Professional Music Director on song and dance numbers from different eras in Broadway history, from the old classics to the hits of today! On-Camera & Broadway actor James Leo Ryan (ANNIE, NCIS, CSI, MEDIUM, NUMB3RS) will lead this week.

Workshops with Broadway Actors: Campers will take workshops with various Broadway guest artists throughout the week! On the final day of camp, campers will perform in a Musical Revue for friends and family!

PSYKIDZ: A New Musical

An original musical about our hidden abilities and the fears that come with being “different”, PSYKIDZ follows three youngsters from various backgrounds who are chosen by world renowned psychic-medium Skylar Quinn to get specialized on-site training at a newly discovered site that has sent scientists and archeologists running in fear. As the psychic kids develop their skills and subsequently heal the conflicted relationships with their families, they each become more confident and accepting of their special abilities, ultimately becoming more confident with who they are. A Class Act NY is holding auditions for our award-winning Cabarets, Advanced Programs and Agent & Manager Showcase!

September 15, 2 - 4 PM | September 16, 1 - 3 PM | September 19, 11 AM - 1 PM

Audition Requirements

Please sing 32 bars, a cappella, of a musical theatre song that is age appropriate.

Agent & Manager Showcase
Singers & Non-Singers:
One-minute, age-appropriate monologue from a published play. Pieces should be conversational in tone. Monologues MUST be memorized. Bring 2 copies with you! *Monologues are mandatory for the Agent & Manager Showcase audition.

Singers Must Also Prepare:
32 bars of a musical theatre song to be sung a cappella.

Advanced Programs
Junior Scenes Into Song, Senior Musical Theatre Scenes Into Song, Junior Musical Theatre Audition Process A to Z, College & Conservatory Prep
Please sing 32 bars, a cappella, of a musical theatre song that is age appropriate.

Voice-Over, Method & Meisner
Please perform a 1-minute monologue that is age appropriate.
